The new tax rules with regard to depreciation of assets, which came into force from January 1, 2005 onwards, signal the beginning of a new era for real estate companies with regard to the depreciation of their assets. 
The fiscal dimension of this reform for real estate companies is a decisive factor in their profitability. Although it is expected that the tax impact of these new accounting rules will be limited for most companies, this conciliatory position does not apply to real estate companies.
